External Drive

The 750GB Pushbutton Back-up Hard Drive expands Seagate's existing 200-500GB external drive line-up. It too incorporates both USB and Firewire connectors, and ships with PC and Mac software that will automatically back up the host computer's hard drive when the button on the front of the external unit is pressed. The 750GB drive inside the unit runs at 7,200rpm and contains 16MB of cache memory. It has an average latency of 4.2ms. It contains four platters accessed using eight read and write heads. The capacity arises from the use of perpendicular recording to boost each platter's capacity to 188GB.
